Oncological chemotherapy department No. 1 was opened on September 1, 2016 on the basis of the Gomel Regional Clinical Oncology Dispensary at Meditsinskaya St., 2

The department is calculated for 30 beds a daily stay. Doctors and nurses are highly qualified specialists with long-term work experience, possessing various methods of administering chemotherapy drugs: intravenously, drip, infusion with the help of dispensers of medicinal substances, in m, introduction into the pleural and abdominal cavities.

When carrying out chemotherapy, port systems are used.

Supportive therapy is actively used: antiemetics, colony-stimulating factors. When there are symptoms associated with the introduction of cytostatics (diarrhea, stomatitis, infection, etc.), therapy is conducted to stop them.

Recently, one of the most important achievements of drug treatment is the individualization of treatment, taking into account the molecular-genetic, IHH tumor characteristics. Based on the latter, the department conducts research analysis and targeted treatment of patients with targeted drugs.

On the basis of the department, clinical trials of new anticancer drugs are carried out according to GCP standards in the framework of multicenter international clinical trials.
